I had a slip of tongue and mistakenly took Aishwarya Rai\u2019s name while I was supposed to give another example. I apologise to her personally. I did not intend to hurt anyone\u2019s sentiment,\u201d he said in the video message.<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Farynewsasia%2Fvideos%2F1515703305889615%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=395&amp;t=0\" width=\"395\" height=\"476\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>For the unversed, the incident took place a day earlier when Razzaq was discussing the performance of the national squad in the ICC Men\u2019s World Cup 2023, and talked about their \u2018<em>neeyat<\/em> (intent)\u2019 and coaching strategies. He opined that the Pakistan Cricket Board does not have the intention to polish the country\u2019s current cricket situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone over here is talking about the intention and Pakistan\u2019s team. Actually, we don\u2019t have good intentions to develop and polish players in Pakistan. If you think that by marrying Aishwarya Rai, a good and pious kid would be born, it would never happen,\u201d he was heard saying while sitting alongside former cricket stars Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul, who laughed and clapped on his statement.<\/p>\n<p>As the video went viral on social media, Razzaq was under fire for his comments and along with social users, was also condemned by fellow cricketers.<\/p>\n<p>Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhter wrote on X, \u201cI highly condemn the inappropriate joke\/comparison made by Razzaq. No woman should be disrespected like this. People seated beside him should have raised their voice right away rather than laughing and clapping.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though, appearing on a private news channel later, Afridi clarified, \u201cI couldn\u2019t hear what he said.
