Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti has urged the caretaker government to issue a notification enabling litigants to take their matters to their nearby courts rather than approaching the principal seat.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to sources, the initiative was taken to ensure dispensation of justice at the doorsteps of the litigants who had to come to the LHC principal seat from remote areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the move, the cases of Mianwali may be taken up at the Rawalpindi bench and those of Bhakar district in Multan. Earlier, the litigants from the two districts had to travel for up to seven hours to file the cases at the LHC, while it would take two hours to reach the relevant bench.<\/span><\/p>\n

In view of complaints in this regard, CJ Bhatti decided to assign benches in Rawalpindi and Multan to save the time and expenses of the litigants. <\/span><\/p>\n

The matter was taken up by an administrative committee presided over by the CJ, which gave its approval for sending a summary to the caretaker government for issuance of the notification.<\/span><\/p>\n
