Many have defected to other parties, formed breakaway factions, or even abandoned politics altogether.<\/p>\n<p>Six months into the crackdown on PTI, <em>Dawn.com<\/em> has compiled a list of the prominent leaders who have parted ways with the party following the events of May 9.<\/p>\n<p><em>Please note this is not an exhaustive list and there are likely a number of politicians that we\u2019ve missed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/12066908\/embed\" title=\"Interactive or visual content\" class=\"flourish-embed-iframe\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"width:100%;height:600px;\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-forms allow-scripts allow-downloads allow-popups allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div style=\"width:100%!;margin-top:4px!important;text-align:right!important;\"><a class=\"flourish-credit\" href=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/visualisation\/12066908\/?utm_source=embed&amp;utm_campaign=visualisation\/12066908\" target=\"_top\" style=\"text-decoration:none!important\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><\/div>\n<hr\/>\n<p>It is worth noting that former planning minister Asad Umar had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1755524\">resigned<\/a> from his party positions without explicitly announcing his departure from the party.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after May 9, Fawad Chaudhry had said at the time that he was \u201ctaking a break from politics\u201d, he was seen at the launch ceremony of the Jahangir Khan Tareen-led Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) in June.<\/p>\n<p>However, Fawad has kept quiet on whether he is officially a part of the IPP.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Farrukh Habib and Sadaqat Abbasi&#8217;s recent departures follow other adieus from notable figures like Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, and Ali Zaidi.
