A Pakistan Army officer and three soldiers were martyred in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Tirah area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Khyber district, the military\u2019s media affairs wing said on Monday.<\/p>\n
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an IBO in Tirah on the reported presence of terrorists.<\/p>\n
During the operation, Pakistan Army troops \u2014 led by Lt Col Muhammad Hassan Haider \u2014 \u201ceffectively engaged the terrorists\u2019 location\u201d. As a result, three militants were \u201csent to hell\u201d while three others were injured, the ISPR said.<\/p>\n
The ISPR said that during an \u201cintense exchange of fire\u201d, 43-year-old Lt Col Haider, 31-year-old Naik Khushdil Khan, 27-year-old Naik Rafique Khan and 33-year-old Lance Naik Abdul Qadir embraced martyrdom.<\/p>\n
\u201cSanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,\u201d the ISPR said.<\/p>\n
