National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has appealed to the authorities to allow Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to do his religious duty.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah in a post on X, formerly twitter, strongly demanded permission for Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to resume his Friday routine in Srinagar Jamia Masjid.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Farooq Abdullah talking to media men in Srinagar described the authorities\u2019 order warning its employees of disciplinary action if they resort to demonstrations and strikes as injustice.<\/p>\n

The occupation authorities have restricted the government employees from participating in any kind of demonstrations and strikes to press for their demands.<\/p>\n

He said his party supports the employees\u2019 basic rights. \u201cI think this is injustice against them. We stand with them and we appeal to the authorities to give them what is their basic right,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

President of the Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu and Kashmir (EJAC), Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the right to protest was guaranteed by the Constitution of India.<\/p>\n

He said in a democratic country, Government employees have the right to protest against any form of injustice or discrimination. \u201cWhen their legitimate demands go unmet, peaceful demonstrations, in accordance with the constitution, become their last option,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam urged the authorities to reconsider and rescind the said order, which, he said, restricts the employees from exercising their democratic rights to participate in any form of protest organized for their legitimate entitlements, as guaranteed by the Constitution of India.\u2014KMS<\/p>\n
