Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser was sent on judicial remand to Adiala jail on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The PTI leader was presented in a local court presided by\u00a0Judicial Magistrate Qudratullah by the police a day after his arrest<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The court was informed that Qaiser was arrested in a\u00a0corruption case in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following a request\u00a0for his apprehension by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).<\/p>\n

Qaiser’s counsel, Shoaib Shaheen, questioned the police’s authority over his unjustified arrest. Nevertheless, the court accepted Qaiser’s judicial remand and instructed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) police to complete the legal procedure within a week.<\/p>\n

The PTI stalwart was arrested in a raid by Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) K-P and Islamabad police at his residence in Banigala.<\/p>\n

PTI, in a statement released by its Central Media Department, strongly denounced the arrest of Qaisar, describing it as a “shameful” act that coincided with the announcement of the election date.<\/p>\n

The party argued that Qaisar’s arrest raised concerns about the transparency of the electoral process leading up to the elections.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
