The Pakistan Army in the early hours of Saturday foiled a terrorist attack on the Mianwali Training Air Base of the Pakistan Air Force, the military\u2019s media wing said.<\/p>\n

The development comes on the heels of a series of incidents that left at least 17 soldiers martyred<\/a> in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n

They include a militant attack in Gwadar, a remote-controlled bomb explosion in Dera Ismail Khan and a security operation in KP\u2019s Lakki Marwat. A fourth incident, another remote-controlled blast in Dl Khan, had left five people dead and at least 24 injured, including police officials.<\/p>\n

In a statement today, the Inter-Services Public Relations said: \u201cOn Nov 4, 2023, in the early hours of the day, Mianwali Training Air Base of Pakistan Air Force came under a failed terrorist attack which, Alhumdollilah<\/em>, due to the swift and effective response by the troops, has been foiled and thwarted, ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets.\u201d<\/p>\n

It further said that three alleged terrorists were \u201cneutralised while entering the base while remaining three terrorists have been cornered\/isolated due to timely and effective response by the troops\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, during the attack, some damage to three already grounded aircraft and a fuel bowser also occurred,\u201d the ISPR said.<\/p>\n

Vowing to remain committed to \u201celiminating menace of terrorism from the country at all costs\u201d, the military added: \u201cA comprehensive joint clearance and combing operation is in final stages to completely clear the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
