{"id":20101,"date":"2023-11-01T08:46:04","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T08:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/punjab-lifts-ban-on-avastin-injection-use\/"},"modified":"2023-11-01T08:46:04","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T08:46:04","slug":"punjab-lifts-ban-on-avastin-injection-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/punjab-lifts-ban-on-avastin-injection-use\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab &#8216;lifts&#8217; ban on Avastin injection use"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_98\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to \u2018lift\u2019 the ban on the use of Avastin injection, which allegedly caused blurry vision among patients in the province, ARY News reported, citing well-placed sources.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The injection was banned in Punjab immediately after several cases of blurry vision came to light.<\/p>\n<p>Following the ban, six samples of the injection were sent to Drug Testing Lab Lahore and two samples were sent to Drug Testing Lab Karachi by the Punjab\u2019s health department, following the outcry on blurry vision cases.<\/p>\n<p>The eye injection was declared safe after quality, safety, chemical and other tests at the Lahore and Karachi labs, the sources said.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/avastin-injection-declared-safe-and-germ-free\/\">Avastin injection declared \u2018safe and germ-free\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>According to details, the Punjab caretaker government has \u2018suspended\u2019 Avastin injection recall notices and okayed to release of the four batches in the market after a high-level meeting of the Punjab Quality Control Board.<\/p>\n<p>Sources further say, three batches of Avastin 100 mg and one batch of 400 mg have been declared safe for use. It is to be noted that the Drug Testing Lab <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/n3W-sl2WfxM\">Lahore<\/a> has also declared four batches of the Avastin injection safe.<\/p>\n<p>Punjab Drug Control Directorate has advised distributors, wholesalers and retailers to follow set protocols for the eye injection.
