{"id":19555,"date":"2023-10-30T18:23:05","date_gmt":"2023-10-30T18:23:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/petroleum-division-notifies-massive-hike-in-gas-prices\/"},"modified":"2023-10-30T18:23:05","modified_gmt":"2023-10-30T18:23:05","slug":"petroleum-division-notifies-massive-hike-in-gas-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/petroleum-division-notifies-massive-hike-in-gas-prices\/","title":{"rendered":"Petroleum Division notifies massive hike in gas prices"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_98\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: The caretaker federal government has notified a massive hike in gas prices which would be taken into effect on November 1, ARY News reported on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Farynewsasia%2Fvideos%2F1477422166371092%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=395&amp;t=0\" width=\"395\" height=\"476\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Petroleum Division issued a notification regarding the massive hike in gas prices for domestic, export, non-export units, CNG, cement and other sectors.<\/p>\n<p>However, the gas prices were not hiked for protected consumers using 25 to 90 cubic metres in a month, however, the fixed charges for this category of consumers were increased from Rs10 to Rs400.<\/p>\n<p>The notification stated that the gas prices for non-protected domestic consumers were hiked by over 172%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/federal-cabinet-defers-hike-in-gas-prices\/\">Federal cabinet defers hike in gas prices<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The gas prices for different slabs of consumers are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consumers using 25 cubic metres: From Rs200 to Rs300 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Consumers using 60 cubic metres: From Rs300 to Rs600 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Consumers using 100 cubic metres: From Rs400 to Rs1,000 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Consumers using 150 cubic metres: From Rs600 to Rs1,200 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Consumers using 200 cubic metres: From Rs800 to Rs1,600 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Consumers using 300 cubic metres: From Rs1,100 to Rs3,000 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Consumers using 400 cubic metres: From Rs2,000 to Rs3,500 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Consumers using over 400 cubic metres: From Rs3,100 to Rs4,000 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Tandoors: Rs600 per mmBtu (previous rate is maintained)<\/li>\n<li>Power plants: Rs1,050 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Cement sector: Rs4,400 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>CNG sector: Rs3,600 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Export units: Rs2,100 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<li>Non-export units: Rs2,200 per mmBtu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>ECC\u2019s decision<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On October 23, the <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/ecc-approves-hike-in-gas-tariff\/\">Economic Coordination Committee (ECC)<\/a> of the Cabinet had approved various summaries including revision of natural gas pricing.<\/p>\n<p>A summary submitted by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) regarding the revision of the natural gas sale pricing for the FY 2023-24, was also approved as per the tariff schedule submitted by the Ministry, prospectively w.e.f. 1st November 2023, instead of 1st October 2023.<\/p>\n<p>It was learnt that the federal cabinet is likely to approve a massive hike of up to 193 per cent in the gas tariff.<\/p>\n<p>The government is likely to increase the local gas tariff up to 173% for non-protected domestic consumers, 136.4% for commercial, 86.4% for export and 117% for the non-export industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script type=\"rocketlazyloadscript\">\n  window.fbAsyncInit = function() {\n    FB.init({\n      appId      : '161345524510473',\n      cookie     : true,\n      xfbml      : true,\n      version    : 'v3.0'\n    });\n    FB.AppEvents.logPageView();   \n  };\n  (function(d, s, id){\n     var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];\n     if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;}\n     js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;\n     js.src = \"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js\";\n     fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);\n   }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));\n<\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The caretaker federal government has notified a massive hike in gas prices which would be taken into effect on November 1, ARY News reported on Monday. \ufeff The Petroleum Division issued a notification regarding the massive hike in gas prices for domestic, export, non-export units, CNG, cement and other sectors.
