The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar<\/a> has held a review meeting on the progress of the campaign to stop electricity theft. The meeting has taken place in the capital city of Islamabad.<\/p>\n

In the meeting, PM Kakar held discussion with the officials about the results of the campaign since its inception. The meeting was apprised of the results of the campaign.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the meeting was informed that this campaign is going on successfully because of the cooperation\u00a0 of the federal and the provincial governments. It is to be noted that, around 19415 electricity thieves were arrested in the campaign.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, it was further shared that around 39836 FIRs have been lodged against the electricity theft since September. 189 government officers involved in the electricity theft have been so far suspended. Anti-electricity theft campaign was most successful in Mardan. The rate of electricity thef in Mardan has come down from 43% to 13%.<\/p>\n

PM Kakar<\/a> during the meeting has appreciated the positive results of the campaign to the Ministry of Energy, electricity distribution companies and the relevant federal and provincial authorities for their performance and urged the relevant authorities to intensify efforts against electricity theft.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister has further directed that the process of transferring agricultural tubewells to solar energy should be accelerated. Apart from this, the Prime Minister also directed the relevant authorities to submit a comprehensive report regarding the resistance against the campaign to stop electricity theft and other issues in Balochistan.<\/p>\n

It is to be added that, while presiding over the meeting, PM Anwar ul Haq Kakar, said that, \u201cIt is the responsibility of ours to create a stable system for the next democratic government through the measures like the campaign to stop electricity theft.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the meeting, the prime minister was also briefed about the results of the nationwide anthropological analysis to find out the reasons for electricity theft.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the caretaker interior minister, caretaker energy minister, caretaker minister of information and broadcasting, provincial chief secretaries and relevant federal secretaries were present in the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
