ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued invitation for the foreign election observers, ARY News reported on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ECP has announced an \u2018open door policy\u2019 for domestic as well as foreign observers for the sake of transparency of the upcoming general election.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be compulsory for foreign observers to get accredited them with the election commission after their arrival in Pakistan,\u201d the ECP has said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe observers could submit their particulars at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs \u2018Pakistan Online Portal\u2019 for issuance of visa,\u201d election commission stated.<\/p>\n

Accreditation\u00a0Form can be downloaded from the website of the election commission.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccreditation form will not be issued to the individual having political affiliations,\u201d ECP said.<\/p>\n

The ECP has also clarified that security clearance will be compulsory for the foreign election observers.<\/p>\n

\u201cForeign election observers will submit their reports about irregularities in electoral process and will also present their recommendations to improve the election process,\u201d ECP added.<\/p>\n

The election commission earlier decided to invite foreign observers and media for the upcoming general elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll preparations for invitation to foreign election observers and media, have been completed and a code of conduct has been finalized,\u201d election commission sources said.<\/p>\n

The foreign observers will be issued invitations as and when the election schedule will be announced, sources said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe election commission will issue cards to election observers and the media with special security features,\u201d sources said.<\/p>\n

\u201cForeign observers and media will be given access to enter polling stations,\u201d according to sources.<\/p>\n

\u201cForeign observes could also inspect transparency of the vote counting and compilation of the election results,\u201d sources added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
