{"id":17471,"date":"2023-10-24T12:13:06","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T12:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/bahria-town-owner-malik-riaz-son-ali-malik-booked-over-bogus-cheques-of-rs182-million-pakistan-observer\/"},"modified":"2023-10-24T12:13:06","modified_gmt":"2023-10-24T12:13:06","slug":"bahria-town-owner-malik-riaz-son-ali-malik-booked-over-bogus-cheques-of-rs182-million-pakistan-observer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/bahria-town-owner-malik-riaz-son-ali-malik-booked-over-bogus-cheques-of-rs182-million-pakistan-observer\/","title":{"rendered":"Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz, son Ali Malik booked over \u2018bogus cheques of Rs182 million\u2019 &#8211; Pakistan Observer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>KARACHI \u2013 A case has been registered against leading property tycoon<a href=\"https:\/\/pakobserver.net\/malik-riaz-says-audio-clip-attributed-to-him-daughter-is-fake\/\"> Malik Riaz Hussain<\/a>, his son Ali Malik for allegedly submitting bogus cheques of over Rs182 million to Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).<\/p>\n<p>A report shared in a leading English daily said Mr Malik made the payment to get a provisional no-objection certificate (NOC) from the <a href=\"https:\/\/pakobserver.net\/imran-rebuts-claims-of-contacting-malik-riaz-for-settlement-with-zardari\/\">Sindh Building Control Authority<\/a> SBCA as they planned to advertise their Bahria Town Karachi project.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/pakobserver.net\/pti-rejects-leaked-audiotape-of-malik-riaz-asif-zardari\/\">case<\/a> registered under FIR number 681\/2023 accused the owner of country\u2019s leading property tycoon of concealing, and depositing dishonored cheques while getting provisional NOC from the authority.<\/p>\n<p>It was learnt that the case has been registered under a section related to dishonestly issuing a cheque,\u00a0 cheating, abetment, and common intention.<\/p>\n<p>The case was filed by SBCA deputy director Zaheer Husain Qureshi who, in his written complaint, accused Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz Malik of submitting five post-dated cheques but three of the cheques had bounced.<\/p>\n<p>SBCA thus took legal action in accordance with the law.
