The Interim Prime Minister of Pakistan<\/a>, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar held meeting with the delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the leadership of Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari. During the meeting, PM Kakar held discussion with the delegation about the government\u2019s policies and other key measures.<\/p>\n

Notably, PM Kakar assured the delegation that, \u201cSolving the problems of the business community is one of the topmost priorities of the government.\u201d During the meeting, PM Kakar also welcomed the suggestions of the business community and also assured the implementation of the feasible suggestions among them. PM Kakar said that, \u201cAs soon as I assumed the duties of the Prime Minister, I held meetings with the business community and listened to their issues. Despite the current economic conditions of Pakistan, the business community is playing a significant role in the development of the country\u2019s economy as well as providing employment opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n

While informing the delegation about the reforms of the government, PM Kakar<\/a> said that, \u201cThe government is ensuring reforms in the tax system for which the tax system is being digitized. The improvement of the country\u2019s economy is not possible until the tax collection in state is not increased.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOperations have begin across the country, especially in the border areas, to prevent smuggling. With regard to the prevention of smuggling, crackdowns have been carried out during the last 48 years, and positive results are being received. Consultations are ongoing regarding the promotion of trade with neighboring countries. The prevention of smuggling has been welcomed by the authorities of neighboring countries,\u201d says PM Kakar.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, he further reassured that the economy of Pakistan will be further stabilized by restoring the confidence of traders, industrialists and investors. The process of reforms in the electricity sector is going on rapidly, effective action will be taken against the electricity thieves.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, PM Kakar also held talks and asked Ministry of Commerce to ensure regular suggestions and consultations with the Chambers across Pakistan. PM Kakar also directed that the performance of commercial attach\u00e9s posted in Pakistani embassies should be improved. The CDA system should be improved and the business community should be made a part of the consultation process. CDA should digitize all facilities provided to citizens and land records.<\/p>\n

Secretary Commerce, Secretary Industry Chairman FBR, Chairman CDA and related senior officials also participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n
