Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi made a surprise visit to Children\u2019s Hospital late at night on Friday, and ordered a number of improvements, including increasing the 36 beds in the medical emergency and improving the management of beds in the new baby ward. Naqvi was accompanied by Provincial Minister Bilal Afzal, Inspector General of Police and Secretary Construction and Communications. Naqvi inspected the medical emergency on the grand floor, the new baby ward on the first floor and the emergency under construction. He ordered that the beds be increased in the available space in the medical emergency. Naqvi also visited the children under treatment and asked about the facilities provided to the mother. He gave instructions to the hospital management and doctors regarding the best treatment of the children. When the mother of a child named Ehtsham complained about having to wait 4 days for an MRI, Naqvi asked the DMS and the duty doctor to arrange for the MRI immediately.<\/p>\n

Naqvi expressed his displeasure at the presence of 3.3 children in one bed in the new child ward. He ordered the hospital administration to improve the management of beds and cleaning arrangements in the child ward. Naqvi also reviewed the ongoing construction work under construction emergency and ordered the authorities to speed up the construction activities. He directed that a record of AC, furniture and other items removed during the work should be compiled, an inventory of all items should be prepared and doctors\u2019 rooms should also be upgraded.<\/p>\n

Naqvi\u2019s visit to Children\u2019s Hospital and his orders for improvements are a welcome step.<\/p>\n

The hospital is one of the largest and busiest children\u2019s hospitals in Pakistan, and it is important that it has the resources and facilities to provide the best possible care to its patients.<\/p>\n
