Renowned pop sensation Dua Lipa recently took to her Instagram Story to share her heartfelt thoughts on the ongoing attacks by Israel on Palestine. In a detailed message on her Instagram Story, the English and Albanian singer\u00a0of Muslim descent expressed her grief, urging governments to address the dire humanitarian situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sharing a fundraiser titled, “Urgent relief for Gaza’s children” the singer penned alongside, “With each passing day, my heart aches for the people of Israel and Palestine. Grief for the lives lost in the horrifying attacks in Israel. Grief as I witness the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million souls, half of them children, endure unimaginable hardships.”<\/p>\n

The Levitating<\/em> singer continued to state, “For now, I desperately hope for a ceasefire in Gaza and urge governments to halt the unfolding crisis. Our hope lies in finding the empathy to recognize this dire humanitarian situation.” She ended her message by “sending love to Palestinian and Jewish communities worldwide, who bear this burden more heavily than most.”<\/p>\n

This message from Dua follows similar sentiments expressed by supermodel Gigi Hadid, who has Palestinian roots through her father’s side of the family. The model stated, \u201cI have deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, it\u2019s a responsibility I hold daily. I also feel a responsibility to my Jewish friends to make it clear, as I have before.”<\/p>\n

Gigi further added, \u201cWhile I have hopes and dreams for Palestinians, none of them include the harm of a Jewish person. The terrorizing of innocent people is not in alignment with and does not do any good for the \u2018Free Palestine\u2019 movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

This slightly pro-Palestine stance drew the attention of the State of Israel’s X account, which called her out, leading to a vast array of mixed reactions. It is also pertinent to note that while a vast chunk of Hollywood is standing firmly with Israel, Dua and Gigi have tried to toe the line with the entire unfolding of events.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
