{"id":15417,"date":"2023-10-18T13:24:07","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T13:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/nawaz-moves-ihc-for-protective-bail-the-express-tribune\/"},"modified":"2023-10-18T13:24:07","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T13:24:07","slug":"nawaz-moves-ihc-for-protective-bail-the-express-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/nawaz-moves-ihc-for-protective-bail-the-express-tribune\/","title":{"rendered":"Nawaz moves IHC for protective bail | The Express Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<p>The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)\u00a0on two petitions filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif seeking protective bail in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia\u00a0cases.<\/p>\n<p>A two-member bench headed by\u00a0Justice Aamer Farooq, and comprising Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the three-time prime minister&#8217;s request for protective bail.<\/p>\n<p>Nawaz&#8217;s counsel, Muhammad Amjad Pervaiz,\u00a0referred to past judgments arguing that when a proclaimed offender has wished to surrender before the court\u00a0to seek protective bail the latter has provided them the opportunity to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore,\u00a0Pervaiz\u00a0stated that Nawaz had never \u2018misused&#8217; his bail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also read<\/strong>: <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2441590\/pml-n-leader-offers-ticket-to-paradise-for-attending-nawazs-homecoming-rally\">PML-N leader offers \u2018ticket to paradise\u2019 for attending Nawaz\u2019s homecoming r<\/a>ally<\/p>\n<p>The NAB prosecutor said that when the appeal is fixed, they will provide instructions at that time.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Nawaz filed an appeal in the IHC, appealing for protective bail, stating that he\u00a0wants to face cases and should be prevented from arrest to reach the court.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accountability court<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Nawaz also applied for protective bail in the Toshakhana case, requesting the suspension of the warrant.
