St Kitts and Nevis<\/span><\/strong>: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, met with CXC Registrar and CEO Dr Wayne Wesley on Wednesday. He paid a courtesy<\/a> call at the prime minister\u2019s office, Government Headquarters in Basseterre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He was accompanied by Foyalan Taitt, Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Registrar.<\/span><\/p>\n

St Kitts and Nevis also hosted the Ceremony for the Official Release of Results for the 2023 May\/June Regional Examinations. The CEC Registrar has visited the country and engaged with several stakeholders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While lauding the working of the government of St Kitts and Nevis, the registrar said that the government has done a good job. He said that the CXC is known for its great service and work to provide multiple pathways for students throughout the region.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew also extended gratitude to the CXC officials for making a huge contribution to national development. He also outlined the ways to improve the teaching values in school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>PM Drew noted that he lauded the work and positive impact that CXC has made within St Kitts and Nevis and the Caribbean region as a whole over the years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that he has always been concerned about the inadquate amount of attention being paid to the teaching values to young by the formal <\/span>education institutions,\u201d Prime Minister Drew noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cAdditionally, our education system focuses more on what reflects the classic Bell Curve. Most attention is paid to the students who are academically strong and less attention<\/a> to the weak and gifted students,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides this, Dr Wesley also extended his full support to work for the new approach of CXC. They are planning to adopt hybrid innovation strategies, which will help to transform education in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting between Dr Wesley Dr Geoffrey Hanley, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, as well as other key stakeholders, will also be taken place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa Pistana, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, and Glenroy Blanchette, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister\u2019s Office, were also present at the meeting.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
