During a recent interview for a local TV channel<\/a>, actor Meera appeared with her mother and touched upon many topics. The two were asked about controversies, if any, that they found particularly offensive. Meera\u2019s mother also revealed why the actor started refusing Bollywood film offers after a certain point. <\/span><\/p>\n

When host Shajia Niazi asked if any report that surfaced \u2013 related to her daughter \u2013 rattled her or made her feel that \u201cthis\u201d shouldn\u2019t have happened, Meera\u2019s mother responded in the negative. Meera, too, inquired if any news or controversy had ever disturbed her peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, never,\u201d she assured. \u201cI firmly believe in the saying \u2018badnaam nae hogay to kya naam nae hoga<\/em> (there\u2019s no such thing as bad publicity)\u2019.\u201d The host insisted, \u201cBut I\u2019m sure some things must\u2019ve been hurtful, made you think about why they didn\u2019t verify or run something by you two before airing it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, we don\u2019t pay heed to such things. We are sitting right here, happily. We don\u2019t talk about things that make us sad.\u201d To another question, Meera asserted, \u201cPeople look at me through their own perspective.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

About Meera refusing Bollywood offers, her mother informed, \u201cAfter performing in the film Nazar<\/em>, she also appeared in Kasak<\/em>. She got a lot of offers but we didn\u2019t go there as it was an unfamiliar land for us, it\u2019s not easy for her to go and work alone, so we could not go, but still, she is getting Bollywood offers. <\/span><\/p>\n

Adding to her mother\u2019s comments, Meera said, \u201cI regret not doing Yash Chopra\u2019s film Jab Tak Hai Jaan<\/em>. I got the offer in India when I went to do a Tsunami show.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Talking about Meera\u2019s camaraderie with Bollywood celebrities, Meera\u2019s mother said that she could only talk about the actors who were good with her, she claimed that she gets calls from Aishwarya Rai and Juhi Chawla. She also claims Juhi Chawla calls her mom. Meera, however, said that she doesn\u2019t have any contact with these actresses.<\/span><\/p>\n
