{"id":1355,"date":"2023-09-07T11:26:04","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T11:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/islamabad-dc-indicted-for-contempt-over-pti-leaders-detention\/"},"modified":"2023-09-07T11:26:04","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T11:26:04","slug":"islamabad-dc-indicted-for-contempt-over-pti-leaders-detention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/islamabad-dc-indicted-for-contempt-over-pti-leaders-detention\/","title":{"rendered":"Islamabad DC indicted for contempt over PTI leaders\u2019 detention"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_98\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday indicted capital Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon and three others for contempt in a case pertaining to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar detention under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justice Babar Sattar heard the case heard the case wherein DC Memon and SSP Zafar submitted their replies.<\/p>\n<p>DC Memon and SSP Zafar pleaded not guilty to the charges and also apologised unconditionally to the court. The court also indicted SP Farooq Buttar and SHO Naseer Manzoor with contempt of court, however, both denied the charges.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a title=\"IHC orders release of PTI\u2019s Shehryar Afridi, Shandana Gulzar\" href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/ihc-orders-release-of-ptis-shehryar-afridi\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">IHC orders release of PTI\u2019s Shehryar Afridi, Shandana Gulzar<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The IHC had earlier suspended PTI leader Shehryar Afridi\u2019s arrest warrants under maintenance of public order (MPO) and ordered his immediate release.<\/p>\n<p>It had further restrained the authorities from arresting them in any other case.<\/p>\n<p>Afridi was first arrested on May 16 from his Islamabad residence under Section 3 of the MPO Ordinance, 1960.
