Post offices around the country are being upgraded to include biometric verification and digital transfer of money in line with the requirements of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Paris-based watchdog had asked Pakistan to make all types of transactions computerized and verifiable as part of its requirements to remove the country from the grey list. As a result, a new digitised system is set to be introduced for money orders and expected to be implemented by month end, said sources within the postal department.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first phase, the sources said, the digital system would be available at general post offices (GPOs) across the country including the Rawalpindi GPO.<\/p>\n
