World:<\/strong> Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy of the Commonwealth of Dominica \u2013 Dr Vince Henderson met with the Cuban Ambassador to Dominica<\/a> Ulises Arranz Fern\u00e1ndez. Both the leaders discussed ways to improve the bilateral relations between Dominica and Cuba.<\/p>\n

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Henderson took his Twitter account and anticipated that the meeting and discussions will help in unite the bonds between both the nations. The tweet by the Minister of Dominica read, \u201cToday I met Cuba\u2019s Ambassador to Dominica @arranz_ulises. We discussed our quarter-century of bilateral relations and Dominica\u2019s long-standing condemnation of the embargo against our Cuban brothers and sisters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuban Ambassador Arranz Fern\u00e1ndez also expressed his gratitude towards the Dominican Minister and stated, \u201cI met today with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy of Dominica Vince Henderson. I reiterated him the gratitude for the traditional position of Dominica to condemn the embargo of the USA against Cuba.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Commonwealth<\/a> of Dominica and Cuba shares a close and mutually beneficial relationship, with a growing number of trade, cultural, and educational exchanges taking place between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The two nations have a long history of cooperation that dates back to the Cuban Revolution of 1959. Since then, Cuba has provided a range of assistance to Dominica, from medical assistance to educational programs. This has enabled Dominica to build up its infrastructure and health care system, and to improve the quality of life of its citizens.<\/p>\n

The two countries have signed a number of agreements, including one in 2008 that established a Joint Commission for Economic, Technical, and Scientific Cooperation. The Commission is tasked with identifying areas of collaboration between the two countries, such as trade and investment, tourism, culture, science and technology, and education.<\/p>\n

The two countries have also signed a number of trade agreements, including an agreement in 2017 that established preferential trade terms between the two countries.
