(&#8220;Leading Edge Materials&#8221; or the &#8220;Company&#8221;) (TSXV: LEM) (Nasdaq First North: LEMSE) (OTCQB: LEMIF) (FRA: 7FL) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned Swedish subsidiary, Greenna Mineral AB (\u201cGreenna Mineral\u201d), has commenced work on the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Norra K\u00e4rr Heavy Rare Earth Elements Project.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The EIA marks an important step in the permitting process following the Swedish Government\u2019s decision to grant an Exploitation Concession (Sw. bearbetningskoncession) for Norra K\u00e4rr. With the Concession in place, the Company is now advancing towards an application for an environmental permit under the Swedish Environmental Code (Sw. milj\u00f6balken), which is planned for submission during 2027.<\/p>\n<p><b>From concession to environmental permit<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Exploitation Concession confirms the Company\u2019s right to extract the mineral deposit and establishes that the site is suitable for mining. The environmental permit, which is reviewed by the Land and Environment Court (Sw. Mark- och milj\u00f6domstolen), will set out the detailed conditions under which mining operations may be carried out.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The EIA will provide the comprehensive knowledge base required for this application. It will build on the revised project design presented in the Concession application, under which chemical processing will take place at a separate location, significantly reducing the project\u2019s environmental footprint at site.<\/p>\n<p><b>Approach to the EIA work<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The EIA work will initially focus on a nature value inventory (Sw. naturv\u00e4rdesinventering) and preliminary studies. The scope of further investigations, and the areas they will cover, will then be determined through the consultation process, in dialogue with authorities, local communities and other stakeholders.
