Long Beach, CA, Sept. 28, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Long Beach City College (LBCC) Superintendent-President Dr. Mike Mu\u00f1oz has been selected to receive the 2026 National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region VI President\u2019s Award, which recognizes a college or university president or chancellor who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to advancing the quality of student life through support of student affairs staff and initiatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Mu\u00f1oz\u2019s commitment to student success and to the professionals who support our students every day is something our community has seen firsthand,\u201d said Uduak-Joe Ntuk, LBCC Board of Trustees President. \u201cThe Board is proud to see his leadership and impact recognized on a national stage, and to see the work he continues to lead at Long Beach City College receive this recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recipients of the President\u2019s Award are recognized for their direct involvement in enhancing the quality of student life, their commitment to involving students and student affairs professionals in institutional governance, and their contributions to the student affairs profession beyond their own campuses.<\/p>\n
