India fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan and the 2026 Asian Games after suffering a fresh hamstring strain, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said.<\/p>\n

Rana, who had been recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during India\u2019s tour of England, suffered the strain while bowling in a match simulation on September 7.<\/p>\n

Yash Thakur has been named as Rana\u2019s replacement in both squads. The 27-year-old made his T20I debut during India\u2019s tour of Zimbabwe in July, taking four wickets in two matches.<\/p>\n

Rana had initially been named subject to fitness clearance when India announced their squads earlier this month. Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy were also selected subject to fitness.<\/p>\n
