GILGIT: The SHO of Gupis police station in Ghizer district, who was leading a police team on a search operation to ap\u00ad\u00adprehend suspects invol\u00adved in the murder of a school teacher<\/a> in Bhatrit, was martyred after an unknown group opened fire in the area.<\/p>\n

Sub-Inspector Moham\u00admad Alam, the SHO of Gupis police station, and a resident of Diamer district lost their lives during the incident.<\/p>\n

The resident Niat Amin, a government school teacher, was returning home with his sister on a motorbike when he was killed in crossfire.<\/p>\n

The residents of Dahi\u00admal and surrounding villages blocked the Gilgit-Shandur Road in Gupis Valley, demanding justice for the victim and better security measures in the area.<\/p>\n

GB Chief Minister Gul\u00adbar Khan has sought an immediate report on the incident and ordered the police to identify and ar\u00ad\u00adrest the culprits. He prai\u00adsed the police\u2019s bravery and expressed condolen\u00adces for the martyred SHO.<\/p>\n
