KARACHI \u2013 The police handed over all digital evidence collected in the Mir Raza case to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for forensic examination, the sources familiar with the development said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The sources said that Mir Raza\u2019s mobile phone and digital watch have been handed over to cybercrime investigators in the presence of his parents.<\/p>\n

The NCCIA will conduct a forensic examination of both devices. Investigators consider the data stored on the mobile phone and digital watch crucial to the ongoing probe and expect the devices to yield important evidence.<\/p>\n

The development comes a day after Dr Usama Sheikh, who conducted the first post-mortem examination of the young Karachi businessman, was removed from his position as a medico-legal officer.<\/p>\n

Dr Sheikh has also been directed to appear before the inquiry team. Officials said the doctor allegedly committed serious errors during the initial post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the investigators have completed geofencing around the location where Mir Raza was allegedly killed. However, the investigation team has reportedly faced difficulties due to mobile towers installed in hilly areas.<\/p>\n

Sources said geofencing has generated a large number of mobile numbers, with locations appearing across different blocks of Gulistan-e-Johar, making it difficult for investigators to narrow down the relevant data.<\/p>\n

The investigation team has also searched an area within a 500-metre radius of the crime scene and collected various pieces of evidence.<\/p>\n

The newly formed investigation committee has obtained details from Mir Raza\u2019s smartwatch, while efforts are underway to retrieve and analyse additional data from the device.<\/p>\n

The investigators are examining the digital and forensic evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza\u2019s death and identify those responsible.<\/p>\n
