KARACHI \u2013 A 17-year-old boy lost his life while attempting to rescue a four-year-old child who fell into an open drain near Sohrab Goth on Tuesday, while the child remains missing despite an ongoing search operation.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred near Noor Islam Mosque in the Machhar Colony area within the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth Police Station. According to police, four-year-old Shavez, son of Javed, was riding his bicycle when he accidentally fell into the open drain along with the bicycle.<\/p>\n

A passer-by immediately jumped into the drain in an attempt to save the child but was also swept away by the strong flow of water. The teenager was later identified as 17-year-old Gulab, son of Manzoor.<\/p>\n

His body was recovered by rescue teams and shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.<\/p>\n

Station House Officer (SHO) Gul Baig Panjero said the rescue attempt turned tragic when the young passer-by drowned while trying to save the child.<\/p>\n

According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Sindh, the Central Command and Control Centre dispatched a water rescue vehicle, divers, and ambulances immediately after receiving the emergency call.<\/p>\n

Rescue personnel recovered the body of the teenager, while efforts to locate the missing child are still underway.<\/p>\n
