Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday emphasized the importance of Pakistan\u2019s rich Sufi heritage in promoting tolerance, dialogue and social harmony, stating that the teachings of Sufi saints continue to offer valuable guidance in addressing contemporary challenges of polarization and intolerance.<\/p>\n

Addressing the inauguration of the art exhibition \u201cSufism & Culture\u201d by artists Roomi and Aiman at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Islamabad, the Chairman Senate congratulated PNCA for organizing the exhibition and appreciated the artists for highlighting a theme deeply rooted in Pakistan\u2019s spiritual and cultural traditions.<\/p>\n

He noted that Pakistan possessed one of the richest Sufi traditions in the Muslim world, which has profoundly influenced the country\u2019s poetry, music, architecture, languages and folklore. He observed that the enduring message of Sufism promoted respect, compassion and coexistence, values that were increasingly needed in today\u2019s world.<\/p>\n

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the teachings of Sufi saints remind humanity that respect was stronger than hatred, dialogue more enduring than confrontation, and coexistence more rewarding than exclusion. He stressed that these timeless principles could help build more peaceful, inclusive and resilient societies.<\/p>\n

The Chairman Senate also commended the artistic contributions of Roomi and Aiman, saying that their work reflected how Pakistan\u2019s cultural heritage continued to inspire contemporary expression and connect younger generations with enduring spiritual values.<\/p>\n

He further appreciated PNCA and all those involved in making the exhibition possible. The exhibition was attended by artists, cultural figures, diplomats, art enthusiasts and distinguished guests from various walks of life.<\/p>\n
