ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian<\/a> will travel to Pakistan on Tuesday, according to Iran\u2019s state news agency.<\/p>\n

Habibullah Abbasi, director of public relations at the Iranian president\u2019s office, said the visit aims to acknowledge Pakistan\u2019s diplomatic efforts in facilitating US-Iran mediation talks and to express gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n

The development comes as indirect talks between Iran and the United States began in Switzerland on Monday, with Pakistan and Qatar reportedly playing a mediating role.<\/p>\n

Officials said the timing of the visit reflects ongoing regional diplomatic activity centered on efforts to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will undertake a two-day official visit to Pakistan beginning Tuesday, Pakistan\u2019s Foreign Office said.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said the Iranian president will be accompanied by a delegation that includes ministers and other senior officials.<\/p>\n

During the visit, Pezeshkian is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Office said meetings are also planned with the chairman of the Senate, the speaker of the National Assembly, and the deputy prime minister, as part of a broader round of high-level engagements.<\/p>\n
