Pakistan\u2019s blockbuster film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ <\/em>premiered in China, marking a significant milestone in cultural cooperation between the two countries. According to a statement from the Pakistan embassy in China<\/a>, the release of the film would mark a historic milestone in cinematic collaboration between Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n

It stated that the Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi\u00a0congratulated filmmaker Bilal Lashari on this landmark achievement and expressed appreciation to the China Film Administration, China Film Import and Export Corporation, and China Film Group for their valuable support in bringing the film to Chinese audiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cHashmi noted that the release of the film coincided with celebrations marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, saying that the film offered Chinese audiences a unique opportunity to experience the richness and vibrancy of Pakistani cinema while reflecting the spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation between the film industries of the two countries,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

The ambassador further added that the film\u2019s release followed the Film Co-Production Agreement signed in June 2024 between Pakistan\u2019s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the China Film Administration. \u201cThe agreement aims to promote exchanges between filmmakers and encourage joint productions that resonate with audiences in both countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, Hashmi said the country had over 200 million telecom subscribers, more than 200 television channels, and state-of-the-art cinema infrastructure. He also underscored Pakistan\u2019s growing international recognition in the film industry, with Pakistani filmmakers recently receiving accolades at the SCO Film Festival in China.<\/p>\n

The ambassador noted that the premiere of the film was not only a proud recognition of Pakistani creative talent but also an important step forward in deepening cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n
