{"id":10697,"date":"2023-10-04T10:50:07","date_gmt":"2023-10-04T10:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/cipher-case-ihc-to-hold-open-hearing-on-pti-chairmans-bail-plea\/"},"modified":"2023-10-04T10:50:07","modified_gmt":"2023-10-04T10:50:07","slug":"cipher-case-ihc-to-hold-open-hearing-on-pti-chairmans-bail-plea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/cipher-case-ihc-to-hold-open-hearing-on-pti-chairmans-bail-plea\/","title":{"rendered":"Cipher case: IHC to hold open hearing on PTI chairman&#8217;s bail plea"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_98\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismissed FIA\u2019s plea and announced holding an open court hearing on the bail plea of the PTI chairman in cipher case, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Announcing the verdict that was reserved on Monday, the Islamabad High Court CJ Justice Aamer Farooq ruled to hold open court hearing of the former PM\u2019s bail plea in the cipher case.<\/p>\n<p>The IHC in its verdict said during the hearing sensitive information will be made in-camera on the lawyers\u2019 point out.<\/p>\n<p>In the last hearing, FIA Special Prosecutor Shah Khawar pleaded for an in-camera hearing on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan\u2019s bail plea in the cipher case as it is fearful that an open court hearing could harm Pakistan\u2019s diplomatic ties with other states if the matter is discussed publicly.<\/p>\n<p>Shah Khawar said even former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was booked in a case for speaking publically on a matter.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a title=\"Cipher case: FIA files plea seeking in-camera hearing\" href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/cipher-case-fia-files-plea-seeking-in-camera-hearing\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Cipher case: FIA files plea seeking in-camera hearing<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Salman Safdar, the PTI chief lawyer, pushing for an open court hearing, said if FIA wants to give anything \u2018sensitive\u2019 in the case, it can submit in the court.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the FIA submitted<a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/cipher-case-fia-submits-challan-pti-chairman-qureshi-court\/\">\u00a0challan of the cipher case<\/a> in a special court constituted under the Official Secrets Act.
