K-Electric has issued a safety advisory as rain is forecast for Karachi and surrounding areas, stating that the situation is being closely monitored while field staff remain on alert.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Parts of Karachi received heavy rain on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the spokesperson urged citizens to exercise caution when using electrical appliances during rainfall and strong winds, warning that unsafe practices can lead to serious accidents.<\/p>\n

The utility specifically cautioned against the use of electrical equipment such as water pumps in rain or standing water, highlighting the risk of electrocution. Residents were also advised to maintain a safe distance from broken wires, electricity installations, and overhead TV or internet cables.<\/p>\n

K-Electric further warned that illegal power connections, commonly known as kundas, pose a significant safety hazard and can result in fatal incidents.<\/p>\n

In case of emergencies, citizens have been advised to contact the company\u2019s helpline at 118. Additional support is available through the K-Electric Live app, WhatsApp service and official social media platforms.<\/p>\n
