Ten terrorists were killed by security forces in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Tank district on Tuesday, according to the military\u2019s media wing.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted based on reports of the militants\u2019 presence in the district\u2019s general area of Pezu.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists. Resultantly, ten terrorists were sent to hell,\u201d the ISPR said.<\/p>\n

It added that the slain terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and killing of innocent civilians.<\/p>\n

A large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered during the operation, the ISPR said, adding that the locals appreciated the operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cSecurity forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n

On September 21, eight terrorists<\/a> were killed by security forces during two separate KP IBOs.<\/p>\n

Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in terror activities in recent months, especially in KP and Balochistan, after the banned militant Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended<\/a> its ceasefire with the government in November last year.<\/p>\n
