Federal Interior Secretary Abdullah Khan Sumbal passed away in Lahore on Wednesday after a period of prolonged illness, Express News<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

According to details, Sumbal had been unwell for some time and had taken charge as the interior secretary on August 20.<\/p>\n

He was being transferred to a hospital due to his deteriorating health. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his illness on the way to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Minister for Interior Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti expressed his heartfelt condolences to Sumbal\u2019s family on this sombre occasion.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay his soul find eternal peace and may his family and loved ones find strength during this difficult time,\u201d he prayed.<\/p>\n

Bugti said that Sumbal was a brilliant officer and his demise was a big loss for his family and civil service of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his grief over the sad demise of the veteran bureaucrat.<\/p>\n

He worked very closely with me as my Secretary as well as in other key field positions. I found him a thorough gentleman whose professional and personal integrity was beyond any iota of doubt,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Shehbaz said that Lahore Ring Road was one of the best achievements where Sumbal worked as a project director.<\/p>\n
