ISLAMABAD<\/strong>:\u00a0 Development activities in Sectors F-14 and F-15 have officially commenced following a groundbreaking ceremony organized by the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority in Islamabad. The ceremony was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, marking renewed progress on a long-delayed public housing initiative.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by senior officials including Federal Secretary Housing and Works Muhammad Mahmood and Director General FGEHA Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, along with government representatives such as Anjum Aqeel Khan and Malik Abrar Ahmed.<\/p>\n

Project Significance and Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officials described the initiative as a major step toward addressing urban housing demand. According to the housing authority, the development spans 10,875 kanals and will provide approximately 6,800 residential plots for federal employees and citizens.<\/p>\n

Sector F-14: 4,825 plots across multiple categories<\/p>\n

Sector F-15: 1,975 plots of varying sizes<\/p>\n

Director General Muhammad Zafar Iqbal noted that nearly 11,000 families who had waited close to a decade would benefit. He emphasized that the vision extends beyond plot allocation to building a planned residential community featuring modern infrastructure, green spaces, and essential social facilities.<\/p>\n

Infrastructure and Development Execution<\/strong><\/p>\n

The development contract worth PKR 19.58 billion has been awarded to the National Logistics Corporation, tasked with delivering roads, drainage, water supply, underground electricity, telecommunications, and gas networks. The total project cost is estimated at PKR 28.2 billion.<\/p>\n

Authorities confirmed that landowner claims will be settled fully, while allottees were urged to pay installments promptly to avoid cancellation of plots and to maintain construction momentum.<\/p>\n

Government Commitment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Addressing attendees, Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada stated that the project reflects the federal government\u2019s pledge to complete housing schemes efficiently. He highlighted that delays since the project\u2019s initiation in 2015 had been addressed and development was now proceeding with renewed focus under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n

The project received final approval in October 2025 after clearance by the Departmental Working Party, enabling completion of administrative and legal processes. Officials estimate that if payment compliance continues, construction could conclude within two years.<\/p>\n

The initiative is expected to expand residential availability in the capital, improve planned urban infrastructure, and contribute to sustainable living standards for public employees and residents.
