KARACHI \u2013 The DNA of the prime suspect in a major child abuse case in Karachi\u2019s Mahmoodabad area has matched with samples from eight affected children, investigation sources confirmed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Following the arrest of the main accused, identified as Imran, authorities have expanded the scope of the investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of more than 100 children.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, the suspect\u2019s criminal record from Punjab has been obtained, revealing multiple cases registered against him in Multan and surrounding areas. Sources said that between 2018 and 2023, at least eight cases were filed against him, including charges of child sexual abuse, kidnapping, and attempted murder.<\/p>\n

The investigators further disclosed that the suspect\u2019s wife left him in 2024 and moved to Faisalabad with their children. During this period, the accused reportedly continued to travel frequently between Sindh and Punjab.<\/p>\n

The police said the suspect is currently in custody on a four-day physical remand, and further investigation is underway to identify additional victims and any possible accomplices.<\/p>\n

On January 17, 2026, Karachi police oy claimed to have carried out the largest operation of the year by arresting a suspect and his accomplice allegedly involved in the sexual abuse of more than 100 children.<\/p>\n

Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Usman Sadozai said the arrests were made during a raid in the Tipu Sultan area following the identification of a victim. He said the detained suspects include the main accused, Imran, and his accomplice, Waqas Khan. According to police, seven complaints were reported between 2020 and 2025, while the suspects are believed to have abused over 100 children.<\/p>\n
