KARACHI: Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik has officially announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).<\/p>\n

In a statement shared on his social media account, Shoaib Malik said that he thoroughly enjoyed every moment of his 10-year PSL journey, both on and off the field, adding that the time had now come to bring this chapter to an end.<\/p>\n

I cherish every single moment and friendship I have made on and off the field throughout my 10 years of the Pakistan Super League as a player. It’s time to call it a day. However, my passion and motivation to serve for the betterment of cricket will always stay.<\/p>\n

He further stated that his services for the betterment of cricket would always remain available in the future.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Shoaib Malik had announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2015 and from One Day Internationals in 2019.<\/p>\n

Although he has not formally retired from T20 Internationals, the 44-year-old all-rounder has not represented Pakistan since 2021. However, he continued to feature in the PSL and other T20 leagues around the world.<\/p>\n

Shoaib Malik played all 10 seasons of the PSL, representing four franchises during his career \u2014 Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. He played his final PSL season in 2025 for Quetta Gladiators.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, fast bowler Haris Rauf will not be part of Pakistan\u2019s 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Sources indicate that national team coach Mike Hesson has not been in favor of including Haris in the squad since the Asia Cup final. Following the Asia Cup, Rauf has not featured in any T20 matches for Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Currently, Haris Rauf is participating in the Big Bash League in Australia.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
