ISLAMABAD \u2013 A delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by Director General Customs and Port Security Ahmed bin Lahij Al Falasi called on Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi.<\/p>\n

Detailed discussions were held on Pakistan UAE relations, mutual cooperation, and simplifying immigration processes for travelers.<\/p>\n

\u200eDuring the meeting , both sides agreed that a formal pact on \u201cPre-Immigration Clearance\u201d between Pakistan and the UAE would be signed.<\/p>\n

The system will initially be launched on a pilot basis, with Karachi selected as the first location.<\/p>\n

\u200eSpeaking on the occasion, Federal Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that under the pre-immigration clearance system, immigration and relevant clearance will take place in Pakistan itself.<\/p>\n

After its implementation, passengers arriving in the UAE will not be required to undergo lengthy immigration procedures and will be able to exit the airport directly as domestic passengers.<\/p>\n

He added that the initiative will make travel easier, save time, and enhance the overall passenger experience.<\/p>\n

\u200eThe UAE delegation termed the move beneficial for the people of both countries and expressed readiness for cooperation.<\/p>\n

\u200eIt was decided in the meeting that the relevant authorities would continue coordination to finalize the administrative and technical framework of the pilot project, and upon successful implementation, the system would be gradually expanded to more destinations.<\/p>\n

\u200eThe delegation included Executive Director Digital Transformation Juma Abdullah Al-Qabi, Executive Director Airports Hammad Saif Al-Mashghouni, and other senior officials.<\/p>\n

\u200eMinister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Agha were also present at the meeting.<\/p>\n
