KARACHI \u2013 Jamaat-e-Islami has announced protest sit-ins at key locations across Karachi today (19 December 2025) against the rising number of deaths in heavy traffic accidents, the e-challan system, and what it described as the government\u2019s attitude.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by the party, protest sit-ins will be held at major roads and important public places across the city at 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n

Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Munam Zafar Khan will address a protest sit-in at Noorani Kabab House Chowrangi on Shahrah-e-Quaidain.<\/p>\n

Sit-ins will also be staged at several other locations, including Star Gate on Shahrah-e-Faisal, MA Jinnah Road, University Road, Dawood Chowrangi, Korangi Crossing, Tibet Centre, Power House Chowrangi, Hub River Road, Paracha Chowk Sher Shah, Haidari North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad No. 10, Sohrab Goth, and Orangi Town Sector Five.<\/p>\n

The protests will start at 5 pm and the port city is likely to witness massive traffic jams on these roads.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that a few days earlier, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman had announced the launch of a protest movement against the existing system. Addressing a reception for party workers in Lahore, he said the party would launch a nationwide movement against what he termed a rotten system and called for unity against injustice.<\/p>\n

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said the local government system should be implemented and stressed that dynastic politics must be changed, stating that it has weakened the local government structure. He added that voters in cities and rural areas should receive the full right to their vote and that those elected by the people should be sent to parliament.<\/p>\n

He further stated that while going abroad for livelihood is understandable, leaving the country due to disappointment is a concerning matter. He said that if given the opportunity, Jamaat-e-Islami would create employment opportunities for youth and revive sports grounds.<\/p>\n

The Jamaat-e-Islami chief also said that a few individuals have gained control through wealth and power, and the party would continue its struggle against oppression and injustice. He added that after the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, courts have become weaker, raising concerns about access to justice for the poor.<\/p>\n

He criticized large fines imposed on youth through traffic challans and questioned accountability for those violating the democratic system. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said Jamaat-e-Islami aims to convey a message that the party is fully present and capable of bringing change to Pakistan\u2019s system.<\/p>\n
