Cho Oyu means \u201cTurquoise Goddess\u201d in Tibetan.<\/p>\n<p>The duo reached the summit earlier today at 12:30pm (Nepal Time) as part of the expedition led by Imagine Nepal. Khan made the climb without using any supplementary oxygen.<\/p>\n<p>They successfully reached the summit just five days after crossing the Tibet border from Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>Kiani became the first Pakistani woman climber to summit 10 peaks above 8,000m and the only Pakistani to ascend seven peaks above 8,000m in six months.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Khan became the only Pakistani to summit 13 peaks above 8,000m with today\u2019s success and the only one to conquer 10 mountains above 8,000m without the use of supplementary oxygen.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the two had also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1777222\">successfully completed the ascent<\/a> of the world\u2019s eighth-highest peak, 8,163m-tall Mt Manaslu, in Nepal. Subsequently, the duo had arrived in China with the aim of conquering both Cho Oyu and Shishapangma.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  sm:w-1\/2  w-full  media--right  media--embed  media--uneven\">\n<p>    <iframe class=\"nk-iframe\" onload=\"setInterval(()=&gt;{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"height:400px;position:relative\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/card\/1767880\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Kiani has already scaled Broad Peak (8,047m), Annapurna (8,091m), K2 (8,611m), Lhotse (8,516m), Gashe\u00adrbrum I (8,068m), Gashe\u00adrbrum II (8,035m), Nanga Parbat (8,125m) and Mount Everest (8,849m).<\/p>\n<p>Saad Munawar, Khan\u2019s expedition manager, told <em>Dawn.com<\/em> that Khan was on a mission to complete the challenging goal of conquering all 14 peaks above 8,000m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHailing from the Hunza district of Gilgit-Baltistan, Sirbaz continues to make his homeland proud with his extraordinary mountaineering achievements,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Munawar also commended Kiani\u2019s determination, emphasising that her ascent of the peak occurred under \u201cextraordinarily challenging conditions\u201d marked by poor visibility and adverse weather.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe marathon climb, spanning over 28 hours, stands as a testament to her exceptional strength and mountaineering prowess,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Alpine Club of Pakistan Secretary Karrar Haidri felicitated Kiani and Khan for their triumphant ascent of Cho Oyu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hold our collective hopes and prayers for their safe return from this extraordinary adventure.
