DG ISPR: Pakistan Army Conducts Over 62,000 Operations; 582 Soldiers Martyred<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR<\/strong>) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry<\/strong> has revealed that the Pakistan Army conducted 62,113 counterterrorism and intelligence-based operations in 2024<\/strong>, in which 582 soldiers embraced martyrdom<\/strong> and 1,667 terrorists were eliminated<\/strong> across the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking informally with journalists, the DG ISPR emphasized that Pakistan is fully prepared to defend its borders and people<\/strong>, adding that policy decisions are made independently by the government and parliament<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif clarified that the decision to send a peacekeeping mission to Gaza<\/strong> would be made solely by the Government of Pakistan and the Parliament<\/strong>. \u201cThe Pakistan Army has no role in policymaking regarding foreign deployments,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n

Counterterrorism Operations and Security Situation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The DG ISPR said that most of the operations were carried out in Balochistan<\/strong> as part of the ongoing campaign against militant networks. \u201cDuring operations against the \u2018Fitna-e-Khawarij,\u2019 1,667 terrorists were neutralized,\u201d he said, noting that security forces remain committed to eliminating all terrorist and criminal groups<\/strong> operating in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

He stated that terrorists are collecting taxes under the name of \u2018Usher,\u2019<\/strong> adding that these groups are the main obstacle to stopping smuggling and organized crime<\/strong> in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pakistan Army does not want to be dragged into politics. It should be kept away from political affairs<\/strong> to preserve institutional neutrality,\u201d the DG ISPR said.<\/p>\n\n

Pakistan-Afghanistan Tensions and Security Concerns<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Regarding the recent border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan<\/strong>, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that 206 Afghan Taliban militants<\/strong> and 112 Khawarij terrorists<\/strong> were killed in recent clashes.<\/p>\n

He revealed that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)<\/strong> has pledged allegiance to the Emir of the Afghan Taliban<\/strong> and is functioning as a branch of the Taliban<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The DG ISPR said Pakistan\u2019s stance on Afghanistan remains clear:
\u201cOur one-point agenda is that Afghan soil must not be used against Pakistan.<\/strong> Our response across the border has been swift and precise.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also highlighted that drug smugglers have begun to influence Afghan politics<\/strong>, while large-scale narcotics smuggling from Afghanistan into Pakistan<\/strong> continues to be a major challenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anyone\u2019s sympathies lie with Afghanistan, they are free to go there,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n

India\u2019s False-Flag Operation Warning<\/strong><\/h3>\n

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif<\/strong> warned that India is preparing another false-flag operation in the deep sea<\/strong>, possibly aimed at defaming Pakistan.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndia can act by land, sea, or air \u2014 but this time, Pakistan\u2019s response will be stronger and more severe than ever before,<\/strong>\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n\n

  • The number of religious seminaries (madrasas)<\/strong> in Pakistan has increased from 48,000 in 2014 to over 100,000<\/strong> today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry<\/strong> reaffirmed that Pakistan\u2019s military is a professional, apolitical, and highly capable force<\/strong> dedicated to protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
