Weather update for Karachi, Sindh; rains, gusty winds likely – Pakistan Observer

KARACHI – Rains and gusty winds are likely in Karachi and parts of Sindh on Monday evening/night.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen on Tuesday. A trough of shallow westerly wave will likely approach upper parts of the country on Tuesday.

Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Karachi, Mithi, Badin, Umer Kot, Tharparker, Sajawal, Thatta, Mirpurkhas and Sanghar on Monday evening/night. Hot and humid weather is likely elsewhere in the province.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, mainly hot and humid weather is likely in most districts of the province. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms may occur in Mithi, Badin, Umer Kot and Mirpurkhas.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Tuesday and 35-37°C on Wednesday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 42-44°C on Tuesday and 40-42°C on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, Badin received 01 mm rain.

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu was recorded at 45°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 70 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 82 per cent.
