ISLAMABAD – Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have issued a traffic advisory for the upcoming tri-nation cricket series involving Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

The police have announced temporary closures at important entry points to the Red Zone, following heightened security measures and team movements.

According to an official from the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), the Serena Gate will be closed to all traffic during the scheduled team movements. In addition, the NADRA Gate will also be closed for all types of traffic. The Express Entry Gate is similarly restricted as part of the enhanced security protocol.

Alternative Routes for Commuters

Drivers looking to access the Red Zone are advised to use Margalla Road or Marriott Road as alternative routes. For those heading towards Club Road, access can be gained via 7th Avenue or Embassy Road, which connect to Srinagar Highway.

The spokesperson emphasized that real-time traffic updates are available through ITP’s helpline at 1915, FM 92.4, and the official social media channels. The public’s cooperation and patience during these disruptions will be essential in ensuring smooth traffic flow throughout the day.

The T20I tri-series, involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 18 to 29 November. All seven fixtures will start at 6pm local time.

A day earlier, Pakistan’s pacers returned combined figures of 7-146 including player of the match Mohammad Wasim Jnr’s 3-47 as the hosts restricted Sri Lanka to 211 all out in 45 overs, which was later hunted down with 32 balls to spare and six wickets in hand in the third ODIat the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
