Tessori announces special cell to resolve traders’ issues – Pakistan Observer

Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori has announced the establishment of a dedicated cell at the Governor House to address the problems faced by traders in Hyderabad, assuring that their concerns will be resolved on a priority basis.

Speaking to the media after visiting various areas of Hyderabad on July 19, Tessori emphasized the importance of the business community, calling it the backbone of the national economy.

He pledged that those affected by recent rain-related damages would not be left alone and that support from the federal level would be ensured. He said the Governor House would work closely with MNAs to gather damage assessments from residents and business owners, and bring those findings before the federal government for compensation.

He proposed either tax waivers for one year or the formation of a provincial committee to facilitate recovery for those affected. During his visit to markets including the Cloth Market and Electronics Market, Tessori surveyed the damage and committed to overseeing the Rs10 billion development package for Hyderabad himself.

He noted that Rs5 billion had already been secured by Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and an additional Rs5 billion had been allocated last year. He also announced that IT courses would soon begin in Hyderabad for candidates who pass the entry test, helping to boost skills development in the city.

Expressing concern over the state of infrastructure in Hyderabad, Tessori remarked that little had changed over the past five years and highlighted ongoing drainage issues, directing the Deputy Commissioner to address a still-overflowing nullah. Responding to questions, Tessori reaffirmed his commitment to holding corrupt elements accountable in development projects. He also shared plans for a future session with journalists to hear citizens’ concerns and reiterated that solving public issues remains his top priority—regardless of whether or not he has executive powers. “We are not here to blame the provincial government. Our only objective is to solve people’s problems together” Said Governor.
