Tabu and Akshay Kumar are set to reunite for Priyadarshan’s upcoming horror-comedy, “Bhooth Bangla”. As fans eagerly anticipate the “Hera Pheri” duo’s on-screen reunion, Tabu recently shared her excitement. She expressed that working with Akshay and Priyadarshan feels like coming home.
In a recent conversation, Tabu shared her excitement about working on “Bhooth Bangla”, directed by Priyadarshan and co-starring Akshay Kumar. She expressed her enthusiasm about reuniting with the actor-director duo after “Hera Pheri” (2000) and collaborating once again with producer Ekta Kapoor after “Crew”.
Tabu shared that, despite not meeting Akshay Kumar regularly, she feels a deep sense of comfort with him. She said, “It’s really strange because it feels like I’m going home. I haven’t worked with Akshay or Priyadarshan for so many years, nor have I met Akshay during this time, yet there’s an ease between us. It doesn’t feel like, ‘Oh my God, something new is starting,’ because I’ve known them for so long.”
“I’m curious to see how it unfolds working with these two after so many years. I feel very at home,” she further added.
Just last month, Balaji Motion Pictures shared an image from the sets of *Bhooth Bangla*, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tabu.
Priyadarshan’s directorial “Bhooth Bangla” was announced in September last year. The film features Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav in key roles. Notably, Pinkvilla first reported the collaboration of Rawal, Akshay, and Rajpal.
“It’s the return of the team which has brought about a smile on the face of cinema-going audiences from across generations. Bhooth Bangla is a perfect script that warrants their reunion, as every character has a trait that would evoke laughter. The idea is to create a unique comic experience with undertones of horror in the backdrop,” revealed a source close to the development.
Ekta Kapoor has backed the film, which is set to hit theaters on April 2, 2026.
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have previously worked together on comedy films such as “Hera Pheri”, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, “Garam Masala”, “Bhagam Bhag”, “Khatta Meetha”, and “De Dana Dan”.
