RAWALPINDI: A captain’s knock by Sidra Amin (77 off 84 balls, 11 fours, 1 six) and an all-round effort from Rameen Shamim (37 not out and two wickets) powered Stars to a five-wicket victory over Conquerors at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, securing the National Women’s One-Day Tournament 2024 title and a prize of 1.5 million rupees.

Fatima Sana’s Conquerors settled for the runners-up trophy and prize money of one million rupees.

After electing to bat, Conquerors posted 178 for nine in 45 overs in a match live-streamed on PCB’s official YouTube channel. Hafsa Khalid led the scoring with a 78-ball 47, featuring nine boundaries, while Dua Majid contributed a solid 40 off 66 balls with three fours.

For Stars, Waheeda Akhtar excelled with three wickets for 33 runs. The spin trio of Rameen Shamim (2/38), Tuba Hassan (2/42), and Neelam Mushtaq (1/26) shared five wickets, restricting Conquerors to a manageable total.

Chasing 179, Stars reached the target in 43.2 overs, losing five wickets. Sidra Amin’s captaincy knock and a crucial 103-run stand with Rameen Shamim proved decisive. Tuba Hassan’s quickfire 12 off four balls, including three boundaries in the 43rd over, sealed the victory comfortably.
