KARACHI- A video showing alleged torture of a woman said to be a wife [Biwi] of a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) with the neighbours in Khayaban-e-Bokhari area of a Karachi. Some reports suggested that the woman who allegedly tortured another neighboring woman with dumbbell.
The woman, a CCTV footage showed, reached door of the neighbours with dumbbell, seen yelling at them, and tortured the neighboring woman as she stepped out of their flat. A man who is seen as a son or relative of the victim woman came to rescue her. But the woman said to be the wife of the SSP in Khayaban-e-Bokhari in Karachi did not stop. Another man with the influential woman is also seen damaging the CCTV footage of the neighbours. Some other policemen are also seen in the uniform but they stand by the influential family of the police officer insted of playing any role to stop the brawl.
However, some reports said that the woman who along with the cops allegeldy tortured the neighboring woman and her loved ones is not the wife of the SSP rather she is a close relative. They are allegedly enjoying the police squad there.
The reports suggested that the victim family was booked by the police without any delay, and the police instead of giving any justice to the victim family allegedly provide support to the influential family of Sahib.
The video which went viral on the social media has raised many questions over the poor policing system, and raised question as a man in plain clothes can damage the CCTV cameras of the neighbours.
However, the police authorities have yet to give their view point on the said incident.
