SIC loses 23 NA reserved seats after ECP’s verdict
LAHORE: The Sunni Ittehad Council(SIC) lost several seats in the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies after the Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) rejected its request for the allocation of reserved seats.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected the Sunni Ittehad Council’s request for specific seats.
After this decision, the Sunni Ittehad Council lost certain seats in the National and Provincial Assemblies. Now these seats will be given to other parties.
After the ECP’s decision, the Sunni Ittehad Council lost 23 reserved seats in the National Assembly.
The Sunni Ittehad Council will not get 24 seats for women and 3 seats for minorities in the Punjab Assembly.
In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the Sunni Ittehad Council will not be able to get 21 reserved seats for women and 4 seats for minorities.
Similarly, the Sunni Ittehad Council lost 2 reserved seats for women in the Sindh Assembly.

Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed the petition from the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) regarding the allocation of reserved seats, which they sought after purportedly merging with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for this specific purpose.
The SIC had requested the ECP to assign seats based on the inclusion of candidates supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) within their party.
