Scattered rains predicted in Lahore, parts of Punjab – Pakistan Observer

LAHORE – Scattered rains with gusty winds are predicted in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night and Tuesday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over northern/western parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are predicted at scattered places of Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Sialkot, Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan and surroundings on Monday night. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

On Tuesday, hot and humid weather is expected in most districts of Punjab. However, rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Noorpur Thal and Dera Ghazi Khan during morning hours.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.

Bhakkar remained the hottest place in Punjab where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. The maximum temperature in Bahawalpur was recorded at 40°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 52 per cent.
