- Ramesh Taurani, producer of “Race 4,” is planning a reboot in 2025.
- The film will feature Sidharth Malhotra as the parallel lead.
Earlier this year, the source reported that Saif Ali Khan is returning to the “Race” franchise, with producer Ramesh Taurani planning a “Race” reboot in 2025. Soon after, we reported that the film will feature Sidharth Malhotra as the parallel lead, with the makers fine-tuning the script, which is packed with twists and turns. While work on “Race 4” is progressing at full speed at TIPS, our source has exclusively learned that Saif Ali Khan is discussing another feature film with Ramesh Taurani.
According to sources close to the development, Saif Ali Khan is in talks for the official remake of Nani’s 2019 hit film, “Gang Leader”. “Ramesh Taurani has acquired the rights to remake “Gang Leader” in Hindi and has initiated discussions with Saif Ali Khan to play the lead. Saif has expressed interest and is awaiting the reworked version of the film in Hindi. The makers are currently adapting the screenplay for Hindi, and a narration is scheduled for December,” revealed a source close to the project.
The source further added that once Saif signs on for “Gang Leader”, the makers will move forward with casting the antagonist and female characters for the film. “The antagonist role requires an actor with a suave personality, while casting for the female leads is more challenging, as the script calls for actors from all age groups – ranging from 10 years to 80 years,” the source explained.
The source concluded, “The idea is to take Gang Leader remake on floors right after Race 4, sometime in the second half of 2025, however, the schedules could change depending on the timelines and logistics of the franchise.”
In addition to “Race 4” and “Gang Leader”, Ramesh Taurani is also producing the David Dhawan-directed “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai”, starring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur. The film is set to release on October 2, 2025.
